Can you reschedule or cancel an inburgering exam for free? ✅

Yes, but you need to do it on time.

In my case, I was surprised that you can cancel the exam for free only up to 7 days before the exam date. If you do it too late, the exam fee is not returned.

Because of that, I had to move my work instead. Otherwise, I would lose the money I already paid for the exam.

How I rescheduled the exam 🗓️

The process itself was not too complicated.

I went to DUO, opened my exam, and chose the option to change the exam to a new date.

So the technical part was quite simple. The stressful part was the timing — because once you are too close to the exam date, you do not have the same flexibility anymore.

My advice 💡

Plan your exam dates very carefully.

Around 8–9 days before the exam, honestly check whether you can really take the exam on that date. If something looks risky, decide early. After 7 days, it may already be too late to reschedule for free.

Also, remember that you can move one exam for free only a limited number of times. From my understanding, you can reschedule one exam up to 3 times for free.
