The Speaking AI Assistant uses task types that directly reflect the DUO test structure. At A2, this includes short spoken answers to direct questions and dialogue responses to everyday situations — the same practical speaking tasks you face on exam day in the Netherlands. At B1, tasks require more detailed and structured responses, including explanations, descriptions, and expressing your opinion with supporting reasons.
The AI feedback evaluates your speaking on the same dimensions as the Inburgering exam: pronunciation clarity, fluency, grammar accuracy, vocabulary use, and whether your response addresses all task requirements. While this is an approximate assessment (official scoring is done by DUO), it reliably identifies the areas where targeted practice will have the biggest impact on your exam performance.

It provides feedback to help you improve your spoken Dutch, but it is not affiliated with DUO and does not provide official exam scores. Official scoring comes from the actual DUO test. The AI feedback is designed to help you identify areas for improvement so you are better prepared on exam day.
Can I practise for both A2 and B1 level?
Yes. You can select whether you are preparing for the A2 or B1 level of the Inburgering exam in the Netherlands. The task types and feedback are aligned with the expectations for your chosen level — short answers for A2, and more detailed structured responses for B1.
